#2 Baker Street
Yes, I can almost hear the song and the gorgeous saxophone solo! We all love the song ‘Baker Street’ by Gary Rafferty. Anytime when I share my pictures of this iconic place on social media, I get many comments mentioning this song, and I’ve been a big fan of this song for a very long time myself too.Of course, we can’t forget the most famous fictional detective Sherlock Homes and his assistant Watson too. 221b Baker Street is where they lived. He is probably more famous than Paddington Bear in my mind, haha!I love this underground station and so do all the street photographers in London. I would say that this spot is loved by street photographers all around the world.
Anytime when I’m in London I try to stop by here to get new and different shots, use different angles, or even different techniques.
Most weekends it gets very busy, packed with people, so I like going there on weekdays to catch some lone figure shots.
I wait and wait until the perfect model turns up…
Patience is the key to successful street photography!
Stay:
This was the most loved photograph from Baker Street by my Instagram followers. It has 17.2k likes.
I love how the gorgeous light falls onto the subject and the mood of the photo is accentuated when combined with the lone figure…
Connect 4:
I love the way that each bench was occupied by a single person under each of the 4 windows… hence the title…
Going Home:
I love this guy; his style and how he was standing fits just perfectly under the famous window!
When I see a perfect model like him I get very excited and take multiple shots before the subject moves away or changes position…
Hurt:
It is the same place and the same window but with a different subject. This is what I love about street photography, everyone has a different story to tell and that’s what I try to capture… freeze the moment to deliver to the world and live in history forever! There is a deep feeling of sadness in this picture…
Did you know that the Baker Street underground station opened on 10th January 1863!! Wow, what a historical place and you can almost feel the ghosts in the station… It’s a bit of a Halloween special this week, oooh…haha!I hope you enjoyed reading my short story.
