Are you curious about the Fujifilm x100f camera and its capabilities for street photography?
March 15, 2024Are you curious about the Fujifilm x100f camera and its capabilities for street photography? Well, you’re in luck! I’ve got a simple user review that I’m excited to share with you. Keep reading to discover my thoughts on this camera and how it’s helped me capture some amazing shots on the streets.
My name is Sook Jun, I’m the proud owner of iSookPhotography, and I love photography/art. It makes me feel alive when I have my camera with me, I forget everything around me when I’m behind my lens, I only focus on people and try not to miss any precious moment that could disappear in the blink of an eye.
My heart lies with street photography but I always find any type of job I take exciting and interesting. I just love taking pictures in any situation and professionally completing the job.
I used my good old Canon set-up to start my street photography journey, but because of its size I couldn’t use it in daily life, so I invested in this mighty little Fuji beauty and it’s been wonderful! I love how compact it is yet it delivers outstanding quality and the photos look stunning when printed out on fine art paper!
I’ve copied the overview about the Fujifilm x100f. I’ll not bore you with all the descriptions that you could easily Google yourself, but it will tell you what this little giant can achieve and help you develop your skills to becoming a street photographer, however, I would like to focus mainly on my street photos in this post;
“The Fujifilm X100F is the company’s fourth-generation fixed lens camera with an APS-C sensor. It retains the same rangerfinder design of its predecessors, but adds an AF point joystick as well as an ISO dial on the top plate. The 35mm equiv. The F2 lens is unchanged, as is the unique hybrid viewfinder and fixed 3” LCD. Inside, the camera has a new 24.3MP CMOS sensor along with an updated image processor. The ACROS film simulation mode is new, as is an electronic shutter that tops out at 1/32000 sec. As one would expect, Wi-Fi is a standard feature.”
Sounds great, doesn’t it!!
I got so many great shots with this little beauty, and the best part of all is that I can carry it around with me every day so I won’t miss a shot.
From beautiful foggy mornings in the historical towns of Windsor and Eton, to breathtaking architecture in the City of London, the Tate Modern gallery and under the low light conditions in the famous Baker Street Tube Station.
All of these pictures I couldn’t have got if it wasn’t for the x100f. I know there’s the x100vi out there now, and I’m sure it is another beauty. If you’ve got one please leave a comment below, it is always welcomed ;)
Some of the pictures I took with the x100f have been favourited by many people with likes exceeding 10K to 20k on Instagram.
Also, how discreet and quiet it can be when I’m out in the streets is another big ‘yes’ for me to capture the moments without disturbing the scene.
I love using in-camera double-exposure shots to be more creative and tell the story that I want in a mixture of scenes. But the only downside I would like to point out is that there isn’t raw file support when using in-camera double exposure and I felt it was hard to bring the details out compared to my Canon 5D Mark 4, which supports raw files during in-camera double exposure.
Overall I would give it 7.98 out of 10, and this score came up completely randomly, the number was just in my head, haha!
I guess this is it for today. If you like the post please follow the link to check out my Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter as well.
